The Legend Lives On...

THE MOHAMED AMIN FOUNDATION

The Mohamed Amin Foundation’s key project MoFORCE Training For Television and Film based in Nairobi, Kenya, has been delivering highly successful training in Television and Film to young African students since 1998. MoFORCE Training’s graduates are known as the MoFORCE and are actively and lucratively engaged in the Film and TV industry in East Africa and beyond. HATUA TV Talk Show and Polar meets Solar are other projects run by The Foundation.

Shortly after the tragic death, in 1996, of the internationally renowned Television Journalist, Mohamed ‘Mo’ Amin, his son Salim Amin with David Johnson and Christel De Wit created The Mohamed Amin Foundation and to continue his dedication to telling the African story, MoFORCE Training for Television and Film was founded in 1998.

Empowering young Africans, with professional skills and techniques, to enable them to tell the African story to the world, is the aim of MoFORCE Training. The Foundation is partly donor supported through Scholarships and Charity support.

Centre of Excellence After 12 years of steady development, The Foundation with MoFORCE Training has become a true centre of excellence and is the leader in hands-on international level skills training for television and film in East Africa. The students’ work have won many awards, both in student and professional categories. MOFORCE Training offers serious disciplined skills development in all key areas of television and film arts and operates and delivers at the international level.

MoFORCE Training offers a 2-year diploma programme, with a component to develop producers and directors in a 3rd year of study, as well as short courses.

The Mohamed Amin Foundation’s high calibre training was once more internationally recognised (2008) when MoFORCE Training was selected by the US organisation, ICFJ International Centre for Journalism as one of the top 50 journalism training centres in the world.
