The Mohamed Amin Foundation established the MoFORCE Training Centre in 1998 in memory
of the late Mohamed Mo Amin and offers a 2-Year set of Diploma courses in Television
& Film Production and a 3rd-Year Internship Programme for selected students.
Professionals from the TV industry deliver the coursework and hands-on training.
Courses are full time and very technical in nature. Graduates will be qualified to
take up employment in the television and film industry. Based on merit and performance,
1st-Year Diploma graduates are selected for study in the 2nd-Year and graduates from the
2nd-Year Advanced Diploma may be selected for the 3rd-Year Internship Programme.

The 1st-Year Diploma in Principles and Techniques of
Television & Film Production will include:
- Understanding Video: Signals, Formats, Systems Eng.
- Understanding Video: Signals, Formats, Systems Eng.
- 100% Hands-on-Learning in all phases of television.
- Program production: camera work, sound, lighting,
scripting, video editing, producing & directing.
- Television Journalism: dynamic news production, news
copy writing, interviewing techniques and ethics.
- Single Camera Drama.
- Film Appreciation.
- Personal Skills Development.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must comply with the following:
- Minimum O levels or equivalent.
- Minimum B grade English and Science and /or experience
in the TV Industry / or post graduate study.
- GOOD computer literacy. (You will be tested).
- GOOD English writing/ speaking ability.
- A keen desire and utmost dedication to enter the world of
broadcast television.
- Ability to meet the fees and the requirements.
- Recommended age of 21 years and above.
NOTE:
- We do not offer still photography or print journalism at
the present time. No accommodation or meals are provided.
- Re-application is permissible only after consultation with
the Director or when you have been requested to re-apply.
- 2nd-Year Advanced Diploma courses are only
available to graduates of the 1st-Year Diploma.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- 2 recent passport photos, copy of ID/Passport, typed CV,
certificates, 2 reference letters with reachable telephone numbers.
- Typed essay (approx. 400 words), stating why YOU should
be one of the candidates selected to enter this prestigious
course. DO NOT write an essay on the value of TV.
- Fee paying candidates: A letter of guarantee for enrolment fee
and tuition fee payment.
- Scholarship candidates: A one-page plea with proof of
financial need and guarantee letter for the enrolment fee.
- The guarantor must present him/herself at the Training Centre
together with the applicant, to verify the guarantee (bring ID/Passport please).
LOCATION AND CLASS TIMES
MoFORCE Training for Television & Film,
3 Mzima Springs Road (off James Gichuru Rd, opposite
Strathmore School), Lavington, Nairobi.
Monday – Friday students are expected to arrive by 08:45.
Classes 09:00 sharp to 16:30. Punctuality is enforced.
